Our Evaluation Framework
We scout and evaluate the world's most promising water solutions—from manual drilling innovations to digital monitoring—so you can support what actually works.
Why We Exist
Clean water is the foundation of community health, education, and economic development. However, donors and organizations often struggle to evaluate which initiatives deliver the highest impact. We act as an independent scout to cut through NGO marketing and highlight data-driven, cost-effective water projects.
Our Two-Pillar Model
To help you understand the landscape, we divide our analysis into two key areas:
- Solutions (Technologies): Understanding what works (e.g., Sawyer filters, biosand filters, rainwater harvesting, manual hybrid drills).
- Projects (Active Initiatives): Understanding who is deploying them effectively on the ground and where your support can make the biggest difference.
How We Evaluate Projects
We evaluate active projects on several key metrics:
- Cost-Effectiveness: Standardizing the annual cost per person to understand maximum impact per dollar.
- Lifespan & Resiliency: Analyzing how many years a system is expected to run before requiring capital expenditures (cap-ex) for repairs.
- Tax Efficiency: Aggregating tax deductibility options across multiple donor jurisdictions (NZ, AU, UK, USA, CA, etc.) to optimize matching funds.
Strict Independence
We do not take commissions, run ads, or accept affiliate payouts. We direct you straight to the official donation forms of the vetted projects so that 100% of your support goes to the field.
